our Year 3/4 students had a fantastic day at the AFL9s Gala Day held at Gordon Barnard Reserve. The day is designed as a fun introduction to football, giving students the opportunity to develop their skills, build teamwork and most importantly enjoy being active with students from other schools. We entered both girls’ and boys’ teams, with all students demonstrating great sportsmanship, enthusiasm and encouragement throughout the day.
A special mention must also go to our wonderful Year 6 student leaders, Tim, Jimmy, Tommy, Emilia and Scarlett, who attended the day as coaches and umpires. They took on their responsibilities with maturity, confidence and care, supporting our younger students, helping to organise teams and ensuring games ran smoothly. They were terrific role models for our school.
Thanks to Mr Cassell for organising the day and Mrs Smith, Mr Turnbull, Mrs Wills, Miss Martin, Mrs Murphy for attending. Special thanks to all of the parents that came along to cheer.
