News from the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Regional Tournament
We are thrilled to share our success in this year’s FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge regional tournament, where our four Year 5/6 teams proudly represented our school and brought home three trophies!
Well done to our Cave Coders team for receiving the Breakthrough Award. This award celebrates a team that made significant progress in its confidence and capability in both the Robot Game and Innovation Project, and is a shining example of excellent Core Values.
The Rock Restorers team earned the Innovation Project Award. This award recognises a team that utilises diverse resources for their Innovation Project to help them gain a comprehensive understanding of their problem, has a creative, well-researched solution, and effectively communicates their findings to judges and the community.
A very deserving Mrs Lisa Redmond received the Coach and Mentor Award. Lisa worked almost full-time with all four teams this year. It is her fourth year coaching, and we are so proud that her passion and commitment have been recognised. Thank you, Lisa. We are so lucky to have you.
FLL is always a team effort, and we are grateful for all the teachers and support staff who helped along the way. Thank you to Mrs Smith, Mrs Lett, Mr Cassel, Mrs Reilly, Mrs Douglas and Mrs Browne for everything they did to support the program.
To celebrate the teams, we invite families to join us at assembly on Tuesday 25th November. We will present certificates and share a few reflections from the day. Following assembly you are then invited to join teams in the FLL hub to watch some of the robotics in action. It will be a lovely chance to acknowledge the hard work that went into this year’s challenge.
Mrs Logue, STEM teacher.
